Prepping for the week

Sundays are my day to get organized and plan/prep for the week ahead. Check out my last post on prepping/planning!

I hit up Trader Joe’s to get my essentials for the week

  • Chicken
  • 4 bags of fire roasted peppers and onions
  • 1 bag frozen raspberries
  • 1 bag mixed frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • 1 tub TJ’s plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 2 single serving TJ’s vanilla non-fat Greek yogurt
  • TJ’s brand shredded wheat cereal
  • Bag of lettuce mix
  • 1 fresh green, red, and orange pepper
  • 1 bag of carrots
  • 1 mango
  • Hummus
  • Broccoli slaw

I ate a quick lunch when I got home from the grocery store.

In the mix

  • 1 egg + 2 egg whites
  • Sauteed peppers
  • 1/4 cup black beans

Then I prepped for the week!

Bummer mango…. 😦

Tried to salvage some of it…

Peeled and cut up some carrots. Note: don’t put the peeled parts down the garbage disposal. I did that a few weeks ago and it didn’t end well.

Lastly, the peppers!

Now I have all my fav ingredients on hand to throw together!

I also picked up a floor steamer!! I have been wanting to get one of these for a while and I saw that Kath from Kath Eats Real Food had just purchased one. After I saw her pictures, read a slew of reviews online, I was sold. I had a 20% off coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond and decided to go for it!

I don’t know if you can tell the difference between these two pictures…but I could FEEL the difference! My floors felt so so so clean. Also, I was surprised that it took a LONG time to steam all my hardwood floors. My place isn’t that big but I was expecting the steamer to be Speedy Gonzales. Not so much.

Gross.

Afternoon snack: shredded wheat + blackberries + skim milk

More cleaning and school work….and all of a sudden it was dinner time and I was hungry!

Grilled chicken salad!

In the mix

  • Spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Mango
  • Red, green, and orange pepper
  • Candied pecans
  • Chicken

Added the chicken…

Then mixed with 1 tbsp of this dressing

I might go for a run in a little bit here…on the treadmills in my building. Otherwise I might just do a little Jillian Michaels!

My week for workouts looks as follows

Monday: TRX class + some light cardio (undecided yet maybe the elliptical)

Tuesday: Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred

Wednesday: Nate’s class

Thursday: Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred + 3 mile run

Friday: Nate’s class

Saturday: Erica’s class

Sunday: Spin class
