The running shoe post

Note: I wrote this post last night and wanted to post it ASAP. I’ll recap my TRX class/breakfast with my afternoon post!

I realized something horrible yesterday. I’ve trained for a marathon (in part) and half marathon in the same pair of running shoes! GASP! I went to Road Runner Sports to check my order history.

SEPTEMBER 15?!?! That seems like SO long ago.

I try to get new running shoes every 4 months. So I’m actually not that late in ordering new ones. But I’ve also been running a lot more. I’m not sure how many miles I’ve logged since September 15 but I was still a month out from Chicago and trained for Austin in these bad boys.

And it might explain this wear and tear…

I’ve actually never worn through the side of my shoes before! Has this ever happened to anyone?

Taking a close look at these shoes got me thinking about my old running shoes. I should really get rid of these.

All Mizuno Wave Creations 🙂 Versions 8, 9, 10, and 11.

I really wore through my 8’s

And my 9’s…

And my 10’s…

But not so much  my 11’s…maybe because I did a lot of treadmill running?

Compare: 10’s and 11’s. Pretty dramatic, eh?

But none of my old shoes had the inside wearing…hmmmm….

Annnyway, I ordered a new pair!

I got the grey/lavender (not a fan) because that’s the only color Road Runner Sports had.

But when I googled “Women’s Wave Creation 12” I saw that they had different colors!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this color.

And the yellow isn’t bad either!

All these colors are available at Finish Line. I kinda want to cancel my order with Road Runner Sports and get the orange/blue ones!

What do you think??

P.S. Do you stick with the same shoe brand/model each time you buy new shoes? Or do you switch it up with each new pair?
