Everything’s bigger in Texas

View from our fab hotel room

We followed our run plan and ran 1.6 or so miles to Whole Foods.  And the run was BEAUTIFUL! We ran along this great trail and I took these photos on my iPhone.

We got to Whole Foods and I was blown away. Literally. 😉 This Whole Foods was the COOLEST WHOLE FOODS EVER. Oh.my.god. Insane.

We got a mix of breakfast and lunch foods. By the time we walked the 1 mile back to the hotel and got situated it was close to noon.

Megan got a salad with some veggies and chicken and stuff. Not exactly sure what went into this guy, but it was good, right Megan?

I got some fruit, granola, cinnamon puffins, and yogurt.

Kasey got a roast beef sammie.

After lunch we met up with my friend Dan (from BC) and walked the 1 or so miles to the Expo. I got a Starbucks on the way. Skinny vanilla latte. I might have found a Chai Tea Latte replacement! 😉

The expo was cool! Nothing compared to Chicago…but this expo was still great!

Race swag! Pictures below of what was in the bag…

Shopping for shorts…

Snack: free mini Lara bar!

Free Chobani!

Snack #2: Lemon Chobanii–sooooo good! I had never had this flavor before.

Kasey’s Chobani matched Dan’s shirt. 🙂

The goods

The free stuff: Spibelt, granola, mini lara bars (not pictured), protein bar, band-aids

Our race bag!

I also got a race jacket…with thumb holes! And some headbands, shot-blocks, and sport beans.

We hung out at the hotel, existed for a little while, and then got hungry again.

Late lunch was a trip back to Whole Foods. Chili and a whole grain roll. We also picked up some supplies for dinner!

Megan!

And did you notice that we are eating outside?! The weather got so much nicer! It was actually hot in the sun! Seriously, l.o.v.e. Texas.

Some cool murals I noticed on the way back to the hotel…

We cleaned up a bit at the hotel and then it was off to dinner! We had plans to make fajitas at our friend Dan (ACE roommate) and Eric’s house!

How many Notre Dame students does it take to measure brown rice bought in bulk? 🙂

Lots of peppers!

Kasey taking pictures of the gang!

Setting the table

Whole wheat tortilla, peppers, onions, black beans, and rice.

Went back for round 2–minus the tortilla

Kasey’s plate–notice the cheese. 🙂

We are now back in the hotel room where I just enjoyed a sweet treat–aka mini lara bar and some free granola!

Time for bed! Austin 1/2 tomorrow!!!
